Critters must look different in Sweden

I was shopping at my beloved IKEA the other day and came across a package of candy that I just had to have, because it sounded like something one might be able to buy at Honeydukes. When I opened the bag, however, I was disappointed. The label had said "Jellied ____s", but what lurked inside were odd, misshapen gummy thingies that bore no resemblance to the creature I was expecting to eat. (The one bonus is that they also featured what the children called "foreign-tasting" fruit flavors, so more for me.)

Take a look at the lurid orange object in the foreground and tell me what kind of animal/reptile/fish/bird you think it is. Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Here via boredom and friendsfriends.
It's kinda hard to tell from a photo, 'cause I can't rotate it, but - is is a kookaburra, on its side? Or a platypus? Or a beaver? Ooh, it could be a sugar glider with its wing flap-y things tucked in. Or maybe it's a possum...

My first guess was some kind of parrot/bird thing. Next guess is a mutant carp, a la "Swedish Fish". No third guess, sorry! :-)

Parrot. A dead parrot.

Upside down parrot was my guess, but a dead parrot works even better!

Perhaps a Norwegian Blue.

Pushing up daisys.

No longer nailed to its perch.

P.S. While I hate hate hate hate shopping, I love IKEA. I could wander that store for hours! So much interesting stuff! I'd buy a ton more from them if their put-it-together-for-you and delivery services didn't cost an arm and a leg, so mostly I just get small things from them (though I did get a new kitchen table/chairs from them last time).

oops, sorry Kai. I hit the wrong reply button. Don't you hate it when you do that? : )

But yes, I'm with you on parrot.

That's a quite passable parrot, that is. Unless that's just the angle.

Maybe my Canadian is showing, but I think that's definitely a beaver.

Though on reflection, 'Jelly Beavers' sounds more than a little obscene.

Mouse? Wombat? Tasmanian Devels? Some kind of dinosaur thing?

My first thought was a dead parrot too. Then again, would they sell those in Honeydukes?
So a revised guess is jellied slug.
